Man, Star Reach is such a great game. I mean, it's pretty simplistic, and it's very dated functionally and graphically. But it holds a dear place in my heart. I got it when I was very young at Christmas from my Aunt, and I played the crap out of it. I absolutely loved it!

It's a very old DOS based game, which can make playing it now rather difficult. Fortunately, there are technologies that exist that allow us to play old DOS games (even on Linux)!

I downloaded DOSBox (using my package manager, aptitude) and also Star Reach (from Abandonia). After unzipping the file Star Reach.zip, it was very easy to get the game running. You just have to type:

dosbox SPACE.EXE

and voila! The game runs! If you want to have it fullscreen, type alt-enter.
